Annive went swimming in her baby pool in our backyard this morning. It turns out she would rather walk in the water than on dry land. Maybe I should say she would rather run. She loved splashing, trying to get Bailey wet, playing with her toys, and talking to everything outside.
Annive's swimsuit is a rashguard two piece with the swim diaper lining, and we got the 6-12 month size since she's in 6-9 months clothes. The top fits perfectly. The bottoms, however, keep falling off. In theory, the swim diaper lining is wonderful, but I think she's going to have to wear a disposable swim diaper (hopefully it fits because the weight range is 16-26 pounds, and she's around 18 pounds now) under the bottoms just to keep them on. It was pretty humorous to watch her try to run in the pool with the bottoms of her swimsuit falling down around her knees.
In two weeks she'll start her first swim lessons. Well, really it's a Mommy and Me swim class. We're blessed to have one of the neighborhood pools right by our house, especially since we're a one car family, and Scott will be working for at least part of the summer. I'm planning on going to the pool every weekday that it's open so Annive can play.
