Annive had her monthly weight check on Wednesday and has gained 10 ounces in 3 weeks. She now weighs 14 pounds 11 ounces and is in the 4th percentile for weight. She's 25.75 inches long and in the 10th percentile for length. Dr. R wants her to be in the 20th percentile for both weight and length, although I'm not quite sure how I'm supposed to get her to grow longer. Dr. R wants us to add an extra feeding during the day which means she can't sleep longer than 1.5 hours for naps. Developmentally everything is perfect! We do have to see a pediatric ophthalmologist for her left eye. She's had a greenish/yellowish discharge from both eyes since she was born, and since the left eye hasn't cleared up on it's own, it's time to see a specialist. Dr. R thinks it's probably an issue with her tear duct, and we'll need to have it probed to open it. Annive won the hearts of all the nurses and doctors in the office. She played peek-a-boo with Dr. K, smiled at Dr. L, and let Dr. R hold her and show her off to the rest of the staff.
Annive has learned to crawl backwards on her stomach. She's also starting to pull up and taking some steps while someone holds her hands. Tonight when the Christmas tree lights came on, she started patting the reflection of the lights on the wood floors and blowing on them. My favorite thing is that she's learned to give kisses. I have waited a long time to get a kiss from my own child. Christmas is going to be so much fun this year!
